In-Person Campus Tours

Join Us for Outdoor Campus Tours

Take a tour of Western's beautiful campus! Let our WWU student tour guides lead you and a small group through Western's tree-lined paths. They will give you the inside scoop on everything Western and answer your questions as you explore. This 60-minute walking tour of Western's campus led by a Student Admissions Representative will also include an optional 30-minute residence hall viewing at the end of the tour for tour dates through September 7. Please note, for the safety of our guests and campus community, tours will take place outdoors only with the exception of the optional residence hall showroom viewing.

Please note that between September 8 and September 26, campus tours will not include a residence hall showroom viewing. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    COVID-19 Precautions and Requirements

We will continue to host guests on campus as long as both Whatcom County and university health and safety guidelines allow. If these guidelines change, or it is no longer safe to host guests on campus, we may have to cancel your scheduled tour. In the event we need to cancel your visit, we will provide at least 48 hours’ notice. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we prioritize the health and safety of guests and our campus community.

For the safety of our guests and campus community, all tours must comply with the following:

    1. Each registered student is limited to 2 additional guests. Tour groups will be limited to 6 families/groups per tour guide.
    2. Masking and physical distancing is expected by everyone – regardless of vaccination status – inside campus buildings. If you are not fully vaccinated you will also need to wear a mask while outdoors on campus. If you are fully vaccinated, you are not required to wear a face covering outdoors as long as you maintain 6 feet of physical distance between yourself and anyone outside your household or party. If you do not have a face covering, we will have disposable masks available for use. Face coverings should cover both your nose and mouth.
    3. For the safety of our campus community, we will not be entering buildings during the tour. If you choose to walk around on your own after the tour, please note that all buildings are closed to the public.
    4. Public restrooms will be available for use during the tour. We strongly encourage abiding by public health guidelines, including washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds or using hand sanitizer.
    5. We ask that you remain physically distant from the tour guide and guests outside of your party throughout the entirety of the tour (at least 6 feet of distance as per CDC guidelines).
    6. The Admissions Office is still closed to the public, so Admissions Counselors are currently unable to meet with any guests in person. We strongly encourage registering for a virtual appointment so we can make sure all your questions are answered.
    7. Please check the weather forecast, dress comfortably and bring a water bottle. Since buildings are closed, we are unable to offer access to water bottle filling stations. Western is a bottled water-free campus, supporting one of Western’s core values of environmental sustainability.
